What is "Dry Needling"?

Dry needling is a therapeutic technique that involves inserting thin, solid filament needles into specific trigger points in muscles to relieve pain, improve mobility, and promote healing. This process stimulates muscle fibers, causing them to contract and release, which helps reduce tightness, increase blood flow, and flush out acidic buildup that contributes to pain and dysfunction.

How does it work?

Additionally, the needle insertion activates nerve fibers, prompting the brain to release endorphins—natural pain-relieving hormones. Physical therapists commonly use dry needling to treat conditions such as myofascial pain syndrome, tension headaches, and sports injuries, often leading to a faster rate of recovery and enhanced treatment efficacy.

Why use Dry Needling?

When combined with other therapies, dry needling can significantly accelerate healing, reduce muscle tension, and improve functional outcomes, making it a highly effective component of comprehensive rehabilitation programs.

Real Success Stories

"I took my daughter in with neck pain. Dr. Patel did some dry needling acupuncture with her and she was pain free and back to full range of motion within two days, just as he predicted she would be. He's fantastic.."

"I can’t say enough great things about my experience today .Dr. Sailendra Patel is amazing. I’ve had shoulder pain the last few months caused from lifting weights. After a thorough consultation, I tried dry needling. The process did not hurt at all and after removing the needles about 20 minutes later, my range of motion increased dramatically! I will go back in a few days and get one more dry needling session. I was also given stretching exercises. I did not use insurance and it was very affordable! If you have pain, call his office, you’ll be glad you did! My husband also went here and had great success!"

"I injured my shoulder and was in horrible pain and could not move it more than a few inches. I went to Sciform to have Dry Needling done on my shoulder and by the next day, I could move my shoulder dramatically more. It was short of a miracle to get the muscle unlocked and working again. Thank you!"
